A breathtaking book

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

English:

I have started reading this book when the movie had already been released and I have been hearing all the good stories from everyone. I wanted to read the book first before I would watched the movie. And I don't have any regrets. John Green has been working ten years about this book and you can see that back in the book. The book is very detailed and realistic. Also the book has many quotes what makes it even more beautiful. I really felt the emotions of the main characters. Every little second I felt what they felt. The end has hit me and I even must have swallowed my tears away. Only for the unexpected ending, I will read this book more times.

Blurb: despite the tumor-schrinking medicale miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about completely unwritten.

Apart from beautiful events happening in this book, there is one reason you should read this book: the appreciation that you get for the life you living.

Title reference:

In his letter to Augustus, van Houten quoted Shakespeare :

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.

Van Houten argues that Shakespeare made a mistake. He finds that its a twist of fate that people are underlings. Augustus and Hazel could have a full life but because a fault in their stars (the fate that decided that they get cancer) they are limited.

"Your family needs you, Katniss,' Peeta says. My family. My mother. My sister. And my pretend cousin Gale. But Peeta's intention is clear. That Gale really is my family, or will be one day, if I live. I'll marry him. So Peeta's giving me his life and Gale at the same time. To let me know I shouldn't ever have doubts about it. Everything. That's what Peeta wants me to take from him. . . . 'No one really needs me,' he says, and there's no selfpity in his voice. It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handful of friends. But they will get on. Even Haymitch, with the help of a lot of white liquor, will get on. I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me."

Jennifer Lawrence's 10 movies based on books

Last weeks broke the news that Jennifer Lawrence will  take part in yet another book adaptation. After spectacular success of Hunger Games trilogy (the second part of Mockingjay hits theaters this Fall) the news may not surprise you but did you know that JLaw has a collection of ten movies based on books in her filmography? Here's an overview of Lawrence's book-to-movie picks, including those already made and awaiting movie projects.

When asked about favorite YA series JLaw answered without hesitation:

Harry Potter. I was so crazy about Harry Potter I read it twice.

All of them twice. I didn’t have a favorite,

I thought they were all amazing.

Although JLaw picked Rowling's fantasy series as her ultimate hit she's more than eager to cast in book-to-movie adaptations from various genres. The actress has been known and appreciated by movie critics prior Hunger Games Part One movie but it is this very title that brought her international fame and crowds of fans. Hunger Games trilogy, however, wasn't the first adaptation Lawrence took part in.

  •  In Winter's Bone based on Daniel Woodrell's novel Jennifer Lawrence played seventeen-year-old Ree Dolly who looked after her mentally ill mother. The actress gained praises and left a significant mark in the movie business receiving numerous awards and nominations proving she's a young and much talented actress.

  • The international success came with the adaptation of the first part of Suzanne Collin's dystopian series The Hunger Games, and continues with next parts.

The second part of Mockingjay hits big screens November 2015. Asked about her favorite Hunger Games movie, Jennifer said:

Probably Mockingjay, with Hunger Games a close second,
I say that because in Mockingjay I get to be Joan of Arc.
Except I live to tell the tale!

"Peeta,” I say lightly. “You said at the interview you’d had a crush on me forever. When did forever start?”
“Oh, let’s see. I guess the first day of school. We were five. You had on a red plaid dress and your hair... it was in two braids instead of one. My father pointed you out when we were waiting to line up,” Peeta says.
“Your father? Why?” I ask.
“He said, ‘See that little girl? I wanted to marry her mother, but she ran off with a coal miner,’” Peeta says.
“What? You’re making that up!” I exclaim.
“No, true story,” Peeta says. “And I said, ‘A coal miner? Why did she want a coal miner if she could’ve had you?’ And he said, ‘Because when he sings... even the birds stop to listen.’”
“That’s true. They do. I mean, they did,” I say. I’m stunned and surprisingly moved, thinking of the baker telling this to Peeta. It strikes me that my own reluctance to sing, my own dismissal of music might not really be that I think it’s a waste of time. It might be because it reminds me too much of my father.
“So that day, in music assembly, the teacher asked who knew the valley song. Your hand shot right up in the air. She stood you up on a stool and had you sing it for us. And I swear, every bird outside the windows fell silent,” Peeta says.
“Oh, please,” I say, laughing.
“No, it happened. And right when your song ended, I knew—just like your mother—I was a goner,” Peeta says. “Then for the next eleven years, I tried to work up the nerve to talk to you.”
“Without success,” I add.
“Without success. So, in a way, my name being drawn in the reaping was a real piece of luck,” says Peeta. For a moment, I’m almost foolishly happy and then confusion sweeps over me. Because we’re supposed to be making up this stuff, playing at being in love not actually being in love. But Peeta’s story has a ring of truth to it. That part about my father and the birds. And I did sing the first day of school, although I don’t remember the song. And that red plaid dress... there was one, a hand-me-down to Prim that got washed to rags after my father’s death.
It would explain another thing, too. Why Peeta took a beating to give me the bread on that awful hollow day. So, if those details are true... could it all be true?
“You have a... remarkable memory,” I say haltingly. “I remember everything about you,” says Peeta, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. “You’re the one who wasn’t paying attention.”
“I am now,” I say.
“Well, I don’t have much competition here,” he says. I want to draw away, to close those shutters again, but I know I can’t. It’s as if I can hear Haymitch whispering in my ear, “Say it! Say it!”
I swallow hard and get the words out. “You don’t have much competition anywhere.” And this time, it’s me who leans in."

"Agreed," I say. "It's going to be a long hour."
"Maybe not that long," says Peeta." what was that you were saying just before the food arrived? Something about me ... no competition ... best thing that ever happened to you ... "
" I don't remember that last part," I say, hoping it's too dim in here for the cameras to pick up my blush.
" Oh, that's right. That's what I was thinking," he says " Scoot over, I'm freezing."

" Lean down a minute first,” he says. “Need to tell you something.” I lean over and put my good ear to his lips, which tickle as he whispers. “Remember, we’re madly in love, so it’s all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it.” I jerk my head back but end up laughing. “Thanks, I’ll keep it in mind.”

"Happy hunger games! And may the odds be ever in your favor."

"Because when she sings...even the birds stop to listen"

"You're not going to die. I forbid it. All right?" "All right," he whispers

"Hope is the only thing stronger than fear."

“Hey, Effie, watch this!" says Peeta. He tosses his fork over his shoulder and literally licks his plate clean whit his tongue making loud, satisfied sounds. Then he blows a kiss out to her in general and calls, "We miss you, Effie!”

“Here, cover yourself with this and I'll wash your shorts." "Oh, I don't care if you see me," says Peeta.”

“I reach out to touch his cheek and he catches my hand and presses it against his lips.”

“The star-crossed lovers”

“My nightmares are usually about losing you.”

“Maybe . . . because for the first time . . . there was a chance I could keep him,” I say.
“So now that you've got me, what are you going to do with me?”
“Put you somewhere you can't get hurt.”
And when he kisses me, people in the room actually sigh.”

“I'm sure they didn't notice anything but you. You should wear flamesmore often," he says. "They suits you" And then he gives me a smile that seems so genuinely sweet with just the right touch of shyness that unexpected warmth rushes through me”

“If he dies, I'll never go home. I'll spend the rest of my life in this arena, trying to think my way out.”

“Together? Together.”

“You got to get through it to get to the end of it"

De hongerspelen van Suzanne Collins

— feeling greedy
The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

The hunger games is the first part in a serie of three books. Honestly I have seen the movie first before I read the books but still I couldn't lay the book away. All from the begin I found Katniss (the main character) her character amazing. She is strong, brave and very smart. And how she deals with te trouble in this book is wondrous. The structure of the story is very good. In the begin is the story calm and later when the games are started is the tension very clearly. For the rest I could imagine me in each character. I found it especially nice how the band between Peeta and Katniss changed.I will definitely advise this book.
